Welcome to O’Neill Public Schools!
My name is Amy Shane and I am the superintendent of the district. I am very proud of our PK-12 school system that serves nearly 750 students. Our students have the opportunity to work with cutting edge technology and top notch teachers as they strive to become the best students and citizens possible.
Our elementary school serves students in grades K-6. We utilize a dual reading program which includes Reading Mastery and Treasures. Our elementary students also have the opportunity to participate in P.E., music, art, library, technology, and guidance classes. Class size is typically under 20 students per classroom, and we provide English as a Second Language services, Title I, High Ability Learner, and Special Education services as needed. Students in 5th and 6th grade can also take part in after school classes. The school also offers an after-school and summer program called the Developing Eagles. All students K-6 are welcome to participate in the program that offers homework help, technology, and other extra-curricular activities. The District also partners with Headstart to provide two sessions at the Lucky Learner's Pre-school.
Our high school offers a wide variety of academic coursework and a seemingly limitless offering of extracurricular activities. We offer strong college prepratory coursework as well as a wide variety of career and technical education courses. Our school has sent student groups to National History Day, National FCCLA, and National FFA for a number of years. We have a Robotics team that has finished at the top of their competitions and we also have student groups that take on current issues such as tobacco use, bullying, and dating violence.
We are proud of our students and welcome anyone looking for a top of the line education to check out what we have to offer.
